Washi Tape Scrapbook Layout
Hello! Samantha with you today. I while back I posted some washi tape Harry Potter cards that used washi to create the look of a patterned paper background. Now I want to show that you can just as easily make a washi tape layout to show off some of your favorite Paper House washi.
Supplies: Butterflies Washi Tape Set, Carole Shiber Hand-Painted Sunflowers Washi Tape Set, Butterflies Faux Enamel Sticker, This Is Us Family Life Weekly Kit, This is Us Family Life Mini Sticker Book, This Is Us Our Family Mini Sticker Book, White Card Stock
Whether you just really like the pattern on a roll of washi tape or you nabbed a washi tape grab bag and have lots of washi tape to use up, creating your own patterned paper from washi tape is a fun and easy way to use your washi.
Since my photo was quite large, I could use a busier washi tape and not draw too much attention from the photo. I striped 3 different rolls of washi, 2 smaller and one larger, to created a striped background on 3/4 of my piece of white card stock. Remember that most washi tape is translucent, so even if you plan on covering your entire piece of card stock with washi tape, make sure to use a neutral color like white.
Since the butterfly washi tape has gold foiling, I decided to mirror that gold in many of my embellishments. I used gold foiled faux enamel butterfly stickers and gold foiled stickers from the This Is Us collection.
Since my photo is so large, I added some of my embellishments directly on top of my photo.
While I used horizontal stripes for my layout, you could just as easily create diagonal or vertical stripes for another stunning washi tape layout background.
