Fishing Scrapbook Layout with the Great Outdoors
It's Carolyn here today with a fishy layout for you. Did you get to enjoy the great outdoors this summer? I got to spend lots of time at the lake so I have lots of memories to document.
I'm so in love with the new Great Outdoors Collection. There is a camping set, a hunting set, and a fishing set. I used the fishing set to document my daughter's attempt to make a catch. She didn't have any luck but it was a beautiful day and lots of fun. I'm going to show you how I put this layout together.
I began by choosing three photos of our fishing trip. Since two of them were similar, I decided I would separate the page into two sections. I love how the top picture fits the boat. I used a piece of white cardstock as my base and played around with paper options. I decided on these three as my background.
I pondered matting my photos with the orange paper but decided it would be too much. So I trimmed the sides off the layout and added orange down the sides.
I added my photos and the cardstock frame sticker. The sentiment is a cut-apart card trimmed to fit the frame. There were three cards that fit but I finally settled on this one because the green color balanced the layout.
I added some blue paper behind the frame to finish the background.
Now the fun part - embellishing! I used many of the 3D stickers that come in the kit and some Great Outdoors puffy stickers. I tried to draw the eye from right to left diagonally across the top half of the page then left to right across the bottom. I made sure to use the "one that got away" sticker since my daughter didn't catch anything. And how cool is that fishing rod? I used some flake fish stickers on the end. The final touch was to add some journaling at the top along with the date. There you have it! I just love the bright colors in this collection and the pretty patterns. I already have ideas for the rest of my kit. Thanks for following along the tutorial and have a great day.
